Community Health Integration
The 2024 PFS final rule established HCPCS codes G0019 and G0022 to account for services provided by certified or trained auxiliary personnel like community health workers.
Auxiliary personnel must meet applicable state requirements, including licensure, and the services must take place under the billing physician’s general supervision after an initiating visit.
CMS allows payment for 18 hours of community health integration services per year. But only 1 practitioner can bill for these services per month.
- G0019 is for providers billing 60 minutes per calendar month, for a total of 12 hours per year
- Additional payment is available for providers who use G0022 for each additional 30 minutes per calendar month, for a total of 6 hours per year
